Contributors MARTIN ESSLIN is the author of several books on theatre, including the recent, An Anatomy of Drama and Antonin Artaud. MARIA IRENE FORNES has written 14 plays since her first, in 1961. She also works in children's theatre and Spanish-speaking theatre. A collection of her work, Promenade and Other Plays, was published in 1971. PHILIP GLASS collaborated with Robert Wilson on Einstein on the Beach. The Philip Glass Ensemble has performed concerts in the U.S. and Europe. RICHARD KOSTELANETZ is a frequent contributor to numerous publications on literature and the arts. JAMES LEVERETT, currently producer of the Hunter College Playwrights Project, has published articles in Yale/Theatre and Educational Theatre Journal.
