I wanted to notify our readers of two upcoming changes that have taken effect as of March 1, 2017.

First, as of that date all submissions should be sent to our online portal, which you can access at <http://wal.edmgr.com/> rather than to our e-mail address. All who submit articles, and all of you who peer-review articles, will be required to register at that site. It’s a bit of a hassle at first, but this new system will greatly facilitate our record keeping and, we hope, speed up the time from submission to decision. For now, book reviews will continue to be submitted via e-mail.

Second, and I’m not thrilled about this, but as of the start of volume year 52, which would be the spring issue of 2017, we will be using the new, 8th edition, MLA format. I’ve heard all the complaints about this new edition, and have held off making the change, but we can’t realistically continue to use a now-out-of-date MLA edition. All new article submissions should follow the 8th edition guidelines.
