Abstract
A study of the relationship between labor leader Ernesto Galarza and the Alianza de Braceros Nacionales de México en los Estados Unidos (National Alliance of Mexican Braceros in the United States). In a critical phase of Galarza's career, he organized efforts to unionize braceros. The hardships he and his bracero allies encountered while facing Public Law 78, which extended the program, cemented his conviction that the Bracero Program needed to be terminated.
