Abstract

Using the 2011 Toronto Nuit Blanche re-enactment of the infamous Borg–McEnroe tiebreaker at the 1980 Wimbledon final and a McEnroe exhibition match in Hamilton as critical touchstones, this article investigates the intersections between sports psychology and acting theory, the powers of commerce to produce particular performances of self, and the racial politics of anger.
