  • Editor’s Note

This issue of Ohio History marks my first as editor of this respected scholarly journal. Let me first acknowledge the outstanding work of my predecessor and colleague, Dr. L. Diane Barnes. Under her leadership, the journal enhanced its reputation for excellence in scholarship and innovation. She oversaw the transition to a biannual publication and introduced exhibit reviews and collections notes to further enrich the journal’s content. I hope that I will be able to maintain the high quality that she established during her tenure. At this time, I would also like to welcome our new editorial board member, Christie M. Weininger, executive director of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center. I’ve known Christie for several years, and I’m confident that she will bring enthusiasm and support to the journal. Finally, I would like to thank the two graduate assistants who worked with me on this issue: Andrew Zajac and Carmella Cadusale. Both were invaluable in seeing me through my first foray into the editorship of Ohio History. [End Page 5]
