With declining print readership and job stability, the job of the theatre critic as we have known it is in danger, and this job scarcity is causing theatre criticism to disappear from Canadian theatre school curricula. Here several instructors and professors comment on how they’re keeping theatre criticism a foundational skill for theatre students, from combining criticism with dramaturgical practices to finding alternative platforms to add new voices to the existing critical landscape.
