The author examines Adrian Jackson’s notions of seduction and provocation, based on forum theatre, to suggest that it is necessary for devisers to embrace their vulnerability as witnesses to marginalized people’s life experiences, before creating work that is authentic, honest, and able to seduce and provoke the audience.
