Abstract

This article details the identification of Paul Eber as the first owner of a copy of the 1543 edition of Vesalius’s De humani corporis fabrica, now held in the Library of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Conrad Neidel is also identified as the original binder of the book, and it is suggested that Hans Holbein the Younger contributed his handiwork to the book’s blind-stamp decorations.
