From Tristan to Finnegan: A Re-Telling

This is a story of the beginnings of Finnegans Wake based on the recently discovered manuscripts now at the National Library of Ireland, or rather one of the possible versions of such a story, emphasizing the part played by the theme of Tristan and Isolde as a point of departure, allowing Joyce to start on a new project and helping him to progressively escape from the towering shadow projected by his previous book and the expectations it had raised.
