Abstract

“Fitting In Air This Water This Time”:Emerson in one of his journals writes, “Write it down and it is gone.” It doesn’t “fit,” but fitt is the Old English word for “song.”

“A Totality Of Language”:The collection in which this poem appears was originally entitled “The Solar Maximus Poems,” and the centrality of the “the sun” here is emblematic of its solar fixation.

“This Place Is Here For You”:This poem originates on a hill looking out over where I live in the Catskills, with the phrase “rough” plus “road” being found text (a road sign) eidetic to that place.
