Wilde, Whistler and Staging “Art for Art’s Sake”

Anne is an Honorary Associate Professor of the University of Exeter. She was a senior lecturer in the History of Art and Design at Southampton Solent University for 14 years. She has curated three national exhibitions: Ancient Landscapes, Pastoral Visions: Samuel Palmer to the Ruralists; The Truth About Faeries and Under the Greenwood: Picturing the British Tree. Anne also worked on the 2010 reopening exhibition at Leighton House Museum, Kensington. She is currently a tutor at the V&A. Her academic papers have appeared in the Journal of Design History, Victorian Literature and Culture, History of Education, Popular Narrative Media and Women’s History Review. She has held prestigious fellowships in the USA, while her career as an international speaker has taken her all over the world, including Spain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
