In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • Editor’s Note
  • Gregory S. Kealey

Careful readers of llt will recollect that commencing with llt 77 Gregory S. Kealey and Bryan D. Palmer had returned as co-editors of llt until a new editorial team could be recruited. We are pleased to announce that as of 1 July 2016 Charles Smith of St Thomas More College of the University of Saskatchewan has joined our team and that, as of 1 January 2017, Joan Sangster, the Vanier Chair and Director of the Frost Centre for Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies at Trent University, will commence as co-editor. Bryan Palmer will depart as of 1 January and will quickly be followed into renewed retirement by Greg Kealey on 1 July. This staggered term will allow Joan to complete her responsibilities as President of the Canadian Historical Association. Charles teaches Political Studies in Saskatoon and will be known to llt readers as the author of outstanding articles in llt 62 and 74. He is also active in the Canadian Association for Work and Labour Studies (cawls), one of our affiliated organizations. Joan, who needs no introduction to our readers, is Professor of Gender and Women's Studies. She served on the llt Editorial Board from 1988 until 1997. We welcome Charles to his new position on this his first issue as co-editor and look forward to Joan's return to the editorial team.

In our last Editors' Note (llt 77), we noted the fine Labour Studies Index, published at Laurentian University (labourstudies.ca). The compilers of the index have corrected one of our points. They give priority to listing open access material but the index is not exclusive of other sources. We are happy to make that clarification and again urge llt readers both to use this tool but also to help the compilers extend it to include as much material as possible.

Finally we are happy to note that 2016 is the 40th anniversary of llt. We have come a considerable distance since 1976 and it seems fitting that in our 41st year llt will welcome a new editorial team. [End Page 9]
