Abstract:

The landscape of Canadian arts funding is rapidly evolving to embrace new criteria that values greater diversity, equity, and community impact. These elements are often found to be at odds with long-held standards of professionalism and artistic excellence. Representatives from four Canadian companies convened for an online forum to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of running companies that often lie apart from conventional professional theatre practices.
