CHERYL E. ABBATE is a PhD student at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Articles include: “Adventures in Moral Consistency: How to Develop an Abortion Ethic from an Animal Rights Framework” and “The Search for Liability in the Defensive Killing of Nonhuman Animals.” Research interests include: nonhuman animal ethics, environmental ethics, military ethics, and feminist philosophy. MARIA BALASKA gained her PhD in Philosophy from Paris 8 University with a dissertation on “Groundlessness and possibilities of meaning: Young Wittgenstein and Jacques Lacan respond to experiences of limitation.” Her research interests include Wittgenstein, ethics, aesthetics and psychoanalytic theory. She has written papers on Tractarian ontology, the relation between ethics and aesthetics, and psychoanalysis.
