Nokuthula Cele is a Senior Lecturer in the Culture and Heritage Tourism Programme, and also a researcher in the fields of History and Marine Tourism, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Rubby Dhunpath is the Director of Teaching and Learning at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and Honorary Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at UKZN.

Bill Freund is Emeritus Professor of Economic History at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where he was Head of the Department of Economic History and Development Studies at the University of Natal until 2004.
Jeff Guy, until his death in 2014, had been Professor Emeritus in History at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. A prolific author his books included The Destruction of the Zulu Kingdom, and biographies of Bishop John William Colenso and of his daughter Harriette Colenso.
