Michael Lind’s books include Land of Promise: An Economic History of the United States (Broadside, 2012); the poetry collection Parallel Lives (Etruscan, 2007); and a narrative poem, The Alamo (Houghton Mifflin, 1997), which the Los Angeles Times named as one of the best books of the year. He has been an editor or staff writer for the New Yorker, Harper’s, and the New Republic and writes frequently for the New York Times and the Financial Times.
