Race et citoyenneté dans la carrière et les écrits de Charles Henri d’Estaing (1729–1794)

This article offers a study of the relationship between race in civic virtue in the writings of Count d’Estaing, with a focus on a patriotic play that was performed and printed in Cap-Français in 1764 at d’Estaing’s initiative, and on the reinterpretation of that episode by d’Estaing himself at the beginning of the French Revolution.
