Abstract

Kim Katrin Milan describes her approach to curating in inclusive ways that include artists of various abilities and backgrounds. Speaking to the lack of diversity in Canadian theatre, she shares her perspectives on the history and evolution of Insatiable Sisters’ one-night super-cabaret at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Gein Wong discusses the need to shift the landscape by creating a reality where Canadian theatre is consistently grounded in equity. Using previous productions she has co-curated and directed as examples, Gein urgently brings to the forefront the benefits behind recognizing and supporting the ongoing efforts of womyn and trans folks who are intentionally creating space in theatre.
