In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • Editor’s Note

Beginning with volume 123, Ohio History assumes semiannual publication with issues appearing each spring and fall. This publication schedule, which permits a faster publication schedule (and doubles the editor’s work!), will bring readers two issues of the journal each year. This volume also marks a first for Ohio History—a historical site review. Readers will find a thoughtful assessment of the John P. Parker House in Ripley in this issue. In future issues look for reviews of Ohio museums, historical sites, and Web sites germane to the wider history of the region. In addition to support from Kent State University Press, which continues its commitment to the quality publication of Ohio History, graduate assistants at Youngstown State University undertake much of the day-to-day labor and correspondence that keep the journal on schedule. Over the past three years I have been especially indebted to Ryan Gelesky and Valerie Waksmunski Starr for this work. This volume is dedicated to Valerie’s memory as she left this life far too young just as this issue went to press. [End Page 5]
