B y creating a personal museum, I can share threads of my thought processes and feelings.In a compressed space I can exhibit a lifetime of multiple media, both still and moving, big and small. My museum and itsworks will not fill up the environment, adding to present environmental cacophony. My work will not be destroyed,aswas done by one artist to his lifetimevisual record (asa conceptual idea). For my museum, I chose to use KVM KineticVisual Machine (temporaryname VanGo), the visual aspect of the music softwareKMMKinetic Music Machine-created by John Dunn. KVM’s elegant music structure allows one to move in and out of a vast electronic space, much as music does. In this way I have created a global place of my own with electronic houses, studios, research laboratories (Fig.2), factories and my personal museum. Each subject has multiple files.When a file is selected, either a pixel image of past work or a movingimage of present KVM or KMM work is displayed . To view thiswork, an IBM-compatible computer, about 4 megabytesof RAM, and a VGA card and screen are required. The storage space needed for the museum can fit into a box of floppy disks or onto one 90-Meg Bernoulli disk. EventuallyI plan to use CD optical disks. included pixel images of work from 1950 through 1992,including paintings; drawings ;watercolors;lithographs; silkscreens;constructions;and copier, telecopier and computer works (Color Plate B No. 3).In the town I have created , and where I have constructed houses and studios, I have assembled portraits and works still and moving,visual and sound, of Generative Systems’artists, friends, neighbors and even pets. the kind of space in which I am living.
