Abstract

The current study explored the association between dating, romantic relationships, and hooking up and the emotional and behavioral health (EBH) of women during college. Participants were 255 female undergraduate students. Results suggest a potential for hooking up, as well as dating and romantic relationships, to be associated with the EBH (especially alcohol use, drug use, and eating pathology) of women. Understanding these interrelations could enhance the relational, emotional, and behavioral health of young women.
