Abstract

The author describes a computer-based approach intended to facilitate the design and fabrication of his abstract sculpture. After explaining how he models the three-dimensional shapes, determines the color composition and fabricates a detailed aluminum maquette, he examines the usefulness and the limitations of his techniques. Finally, he discusses some ways in which this approach allows him to address his aesthetic concerns.
