Abstract

The author describes portions of a series of conceptually based sculptural constructions related to various aspects of the subject of time. Descriptions cover examples of both static and kinetic objects within the series. Included is a discussion of the two types of modular construction systems used, one a modelling system, the other and industrial construction system. The technique for designing many of the objects in the series is based on the similar characteristics of the two systems. Thoughts pertaining to the use by visual artists of the materials, processes and equipment of contemporary science and technology are also presented.
