EXHIBITIONS AND MEETINGS 1.1- The Parachute Center for Cultural Affairs (PCCA) changed its name in August 1977 to Arton's and its address to 320 Tenth Street. N.W.. Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2N IV8. Arton's will retain the functions ofthe PCCA but with some modifications. The Video Archive section now contains many items. from which was shown: 'General Ideas Pilot'. 13 June 1977: 'Numbers. Poems. Stories', 20 June 1977 (both at PCCA) and 'Ant Farm Tapes'. I October. 1977 (at Arton's). 1.2- 'Another Dimension', a major exhibition of contemporary Canadian art. was presented at the National Gallery of Canada from 27 October to 11 December 1977.Theexhibition. which included thematic sculptures of motion revealed through sound. light and movement. was complimented by special events (performance works. video shows, etc.). 'Documenta' is held every four years and is regarded a s an important contemporary visual art exhibition. The most recent one ended on 2 October 1977. Of many recent lectures in Scotland ( 1977)the following are of interest: 'From Cave Drawings to T.V. Captions' presented by A. Gibbs at the Art Gallery. Albert Square. The first International Symposium of the Center for Critical Inquiry wiis held at the San Francisco Art Institute from 28 to 30 November 1977. The Center, based iit the Institute. wasestablished by the Dean ofthe College, Roy Ascott, who also organised the symposium .
