EXHIBmONS AND MEETINGS 1.1- An exhibition of holograms and holography was held at the Royal Academy, London, during Mar. and Apr. 1977. The exhibition, entitled 'Light Fantastic', was arranged by J. Wolff (technologist), N. Phillips (physicist) and A. Furst (designer). A complementary book was published by Bergstrom and Boyle Books Ltd., 22 Maddox St., London, WIR 9PG, England. 1.2- The Museum of Holography at II Mercer St., in the Soho district of New York City, was opened by Mayor Beame on 8 Dec. 1976. Since then over 10,000 people, including the Nobel Prize winner and inventor of holography, Dr. Dennis Gabor, have seen the inaugural exhibition entitled 'Through the Looking Glass' (8 Dec. 1976 to 27 Apr. 1977). The 50-year-old collection of model horses demonstrates the collector's obsession as a 'challenge to our conception of aesthetic judgement'.
