The exhibitions, consisting of concerts and demonstrations, showed how art and science may influence each other. ‘Typewriter Art’ was an event that took place in Edinburgh on 17 Nov. 1973. An exhibition, ‘Innovations in Glass’, which represented the work of the very few artists in Britain who are interested in exploring new directions in glass, was shown at Aberdeen, Scotland, 18 Aug. - 9 Sept. 1973 under the sponsorship of the Scottish Arts Council. The social and artistic role of video was demonstrated in an exhibition called ‘Open Circuit’ at the Scottish Arts Council Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland from 18 Aug.-9 Sept. 1973. The Exhibition was an event of the Edinburgh International Festival. 1.81 .91 .1011 .111 .211 .3I1 .4--The Systems Research Group (centred on the City of Leicester Polytechnic) has been taking a systematic approach to the factors governing the quality of life in industrial society and has a conference scheduled for 19 July 1974. The conference is to stimulate the interest of artists and architects as regards their interaction with the culture of which they are a part. The conference is to be preceeded by a two-day course.
