An ekphrastic poem of a postcard depicting Council Bluffs, Iowa. The poet uses the image as a jumping off point to describe a subjective experience which is then put in perspective of shared experience.
A contemporary poem in couplets negotiating the intersection of body and landscape, and the body as landscape. In “Postcard,” there is a subtle yet palpable violence that lies under the surface of the images.
