  • Editors’ Note

I would like to formally announce that Dr. Mike Carson has joined me as a new co-editor for Asian Perspectives. Mike, who is an archaeologist with the Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC), University of Guam, brings his expertise in Pacific Island archaeology to Asian Perspectives. He will be working with authors who submit manuscripts on Pacific region topics, including initial inquiries about these submissions and guiding the authors through the peer review process, and he will be handling all book reviews.

In recent years, we have had a number of special issues devoted to particular methodological topics, innovative theoretical approaches, and syntheses of current research in particular regions of Asia and the Pacific, including journal issues devoted to studies of maritime migration and colonization in Indo-Pacific prehistory, recent trends in research on Palaeolithic Japan, and landscape archaeology in Southeast Asia. We welcome proposals for future such themed issues. We occasionally publish short scholarly comments on articles that have recently been published in Asian Perspectives to provide an opportunity for scholarly dialogue. Finally, we would like to remind authors that new submission guidelines are available on the Asian Perspectives journal web site: http://www.uhpress.hawaii.edu/t-asian-perspectives.aspx.
