Announcements Cincinnati Seminar on the City n Thursday,October 14,the 13h annual Cincinnati Seminar on the City will begin with Brandeis University's Dr.Jonathan Sarna who will discuss American Judaism in Historical Perspective. Dr. Sarna's lecture is cospon sored by the American Jewish Committee as one of the many events to celebrate 350 years of American Jewish histor>. In September 1654 the first Jews to settle in North America arrived in New Amsterdam from Brazil. Yale Universit> published Dr. Sarna'a newest book, American Judaism: A History, in February 2004. After his lecture, Dr. Sa na will autograph copies of this book that has been called comprehensive, thorough and a delight to read... the definitive book of American Judaism ., ligious history. and research at CMC,will discuss The Development of Social Work in Cincinnati: 125 Years of Friendly Visiting and Case Management on November 11. On December 9, Carl Westmoreland,senior advisor a majc, r contribution to American reSeminar on the City is an annual lecture series that focuses on issues, events and trends in urban historylocally ,nationally and around the world. Since 1992,the Seminar has been a joint program of Cincinnati Museum Center and the University of Cincinnati Department of History.
