This semiannual column selectively lists new periodicals; describes their objectives, formats, and contents; and provides information about special issues; title and format changes, mergers, and cessations. International Index to Music Periodicals Full Text and Index Coverage Updates (http://www.proquest.com/products-services/iimp.html) offers full text titles that were previously only indexed. Included are Revista Vórtex [0103-5525], a Portuguese language title, Front of House, MEIEA Journal (Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association) [1559-7334], International Journal of Research in Choral Singing [1532-5644], Journal of Hip Hop Studies [2331-5563], and String Research Journal [no ISSN]. Musica Docta (http://musicadocta.unibo.it/index; ISSN 2039-9715), is an annual, open-access, peer-reviewed, multi-lingual journal published by Universita degli Studi di Bologna and is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals. Editors seek to publish articles relevant to pedagogy and music education in Italian, French, English, Spanish, and German. Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale [RILM] has entered a partnership with Bärenreiter and J. B. Metzler to create MGG (Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart) Online. MGG Online will be hosted by RILM and edited by Professor Dr. Laurenz Lütteken of the University of Zürich. MGG Online, published by Bärenreiter and Verlag J. B. Metzler, will include the content of the 1994–2008 print edition of MGG and include future updates and revisions. MGG Online will be available as a separate subscription from RILM.

International Inventory of Musical Sources - Répertoire International des Sources Musicales [RISM] has announced a new version of its online catalog, designed to make searching for scores easier. New features include a search for digitized music, Boolean search, incipit input using onscreen piano keyboard, and clearer attributions. The RISM catalog contains over 860,000 records from 37 countries and is updated monthly. The improved catalog is available at https://opac.rism.info.

Title, frequency, and publisher changes; cessations

Music Therapy Today (http://musictheraptytoday.wfmt.info/Music_Therapy_Today, ISSN 1610-191X), having ceased publication in 2007, has relaunched under the auspices of the World Federation of Music Therapy. Issues are released irregularly, and the title is indexed in RILM.

BMI: MusicWorld (http://www.bmi.com/news#filter=.musicworld, (1042-6736), published by Broadcast Music (BMI), is no longer available in print and is an online-only journal.

Special journal issues

Black Music Research Journal Vol. 34, No. 1 (Spring 2014): Special Issue on Melba Liston. This issue, dedicated to jazz musician Liston, features eight research articles and was edited by Monica Hairston O’Connell of the Center for Black Music Research Center for Black Music Research at Columbia College Chicago. The editor notes in her introduction that the Black Music Research Center received the Melba Liston Collection in 1989 and that the articles expand on Liston’s role as a trombonist. The issue does not have any reviews or other materials.
