Our Civil War and Heritage Programs experts have been busy at work planning exciting events and educational exhibits to bring history to life for you to enjoy this summer. Civil War Weekend is June 29 and 30 Presented by The Willard and Jean Mulford Charitable Fund of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation, this year’s Civil War Weekend focuses on the roles of women, minorities, industry and technology during the war. Enjoy hands-on activities, hear guest speakers from groups such as the Cincinnati Civil War Round Table, and meet characters brought to life through costumed interpretation. Cincinnati and the Civil War: 1863 on display July 6 through October 27 This free new exhibit in the Ruthven Gallery explores Cincinnati’s involvement in the Civil War during 1863 through priceless items from Museum Center’s collection, including General William H. Lytle’s uniform , boots, shako hat, sword, and beautiful jeweled cross given to him by his men. Heritage Programs For more than thirty years, the volunteer docents of our Cincinnati Heritage Programs have enjoyed sharing their passion for history through presentations, lectures, and motorcoach and walking tours.
