This article highlights the influence of El perfecto regidor on Don Quijote in general, and on the advice that Don Quijote gives to Sancho in particular. For this purpose, the simi¬larities in the concept of government and the ethical-moral instructions in both works are compared, with an explicit focus on die influence of the work by Juan de Castilla on that of Miguel de Cervantes.
