D. H. Lawrence: Dramatist?

This article considers whether Lawrence could have become as important a dramatist as he was a writer of fiction, on the evidence of the only really good play he wrote, ‘A Collier’s Friday Night’. The author concludes that there were special factors contributing to its success which did not apply in the case of his other plays.
