ELLEN GALLAGHER was educated at Oberlin College, the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She has had solo exhibits at the Mario Diacono Gallery (1994, Boston) and the Mary Boone Gallery (1996, New York), and has been included in such group exhibitions as “Degrees of Abstraction” at the Museum of Fine Arts (1995, Boston), the “Whitney Biannual” at the Whitney Museum of American Art (1995, New York), and “Inside the Visible” at the Institute for Contemporary Art (1996, Boston). Her work has also been exhibited at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., and at the Whitechapel Gallery in London. Ms. Gallagher, a native of Providence, RI, is the original arts coordinator of the Dark Room Reading Series (1989–1991). She lives in Boston.
