Susan Booysen is Professor in the Wits School of Governance, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
Susan Brokensha is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of the Free State. Her current research engages the fields of Critical Discourse Analysis and Computer-Mediated Discourse Analysis.
Thinus Conradie is a full-time lecturer in the Department of English at the University of the Free State. His current research interests relate to critical race theory and critical studies of whiteness, especially white talk and counter-narratives.
Bill Freund is Emeritus Professor of Economic History at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where he was Head of the Department of Economic History and Development Studies at the University of Natal until 2004.
Andrew Gibbs is a Researcher at the Health Economics and HIV/AIDS Research Division (HEARD) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Mark Hunter is Associate Professor in the Department of Human Geography, University of Toronto Scarborough, and Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Built Environment and Development Studies, University of KwaZulu-Natal.
David Johnson is Professor of Literature in the English Department at The Open University, UK. He is the author of Shakespeare and South Africa (1996) and Imagining the Cape Colony (2012).
David Moore is Professor of Development Studies at the University of Johannesburg. In 2012 he co-edited a special edition of the Journal of Contemporary African Studies on ‘progress’ in Zimbabwe, and in 2014 his perspectives on Zimbabwe’s 2013 elections will appear in Africa Spectrum and the Strategic Review for Southern Africa. Nicoli Nattrass is Professor of Economics at UCT. One of her and Jeremy Seekings’ joint research projects is a study of the decline of the clothing industry and the changing nature of capitalism in South Africa.
Alexander O’Riordan is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Cape Town. He is researching the political economy of donor allocations of aid.
Nishlyn Ramanna is a lecturer in Jazz Studies, Rhodes University.
Carin Runciman is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the South African Research Chair in Social Change, University of Johannesburg.
Jeremy Seekings is Professor of Political Studies and Sociology and Director of the Centre for Social Science Research at the University of Cape Town.
