Peter Meinke is Poet Laureate of St. Petersburg. His most recent books – all illustrated by his wife Jeanne Clark Meinke – are a chapbook, Lassing Park & Other Poems (Yellow Jacket Press, 2011), and three books published by the University of Tampa Press, Lines from Neuchatel (2009), The Shape of Poetry: A Practical Guide to Writing & Reading Poems (2012), and Truth and Affection: The Poet’s Notebook Columns from Creative Loafing (2013). His work has appeared in The New Republic, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Poetry, and dozens of other journals, and seven of his books are in the prestigious Pitt Poetry Series.
