This essay discusses how Geoffrey of Monmouth on the one hand utilizes marriage alliances in the Historia Regum Britanniae in order to expand Arthur’s lands and how, on the other hand, Geoffrey expresses anxiety regarding the threat that bringing foreign blood into Arthur’s kin group poses to his narrative.
