Sue Collins is an assistant professor in the Humanities Department at Michigan Technological University. She is currently writing the book Calling All Stars: Hollywood, Cultural Labor, and the Politics of Authority during WWI.
Zoë Constantinides is a PhD candidate in communication studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. Her doctoral research examines the history of popular film criticism on Canadian radio and television. She is the 2013 recipient of the Film Studies Association of Canada’s Gerald Pratley Award for graduate research contributing to Canadian cinema scholarship. She teaches media studies in the Humanities Department at Champlain College–Lennoxville.
Kim Fahlstedt is a PhD candidate in the Department of Media Studies at Stockholm University. He is currently working on his disseration on San Francisco’s Chinatown and early film culture. His research in film theory and history centers on issues of transnationalism, mediations of identity, and local reception and exhibition practices.
Mark Minett received his PhD in film studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in fall 2013, and is currently employed as an adjunct instructor in film and media studies at the University of South Carolina. His work has appeared in the New Review of Film and Television Studies. His research interests include film style and narrative, transmedia storytelling, and 1970s American cinema. His dissertation revises standard accounts of Robert Altman’s early career, from his work in industrial film production and television through his celebrated 1970s features.
Deron Overpeck is an assistant professor in the radio-television-film program in the School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University. His research focuses on the historical development of media industries from 1950 to the present, and has appeared in Film History, Historical Journal of Film, Radio, and Television, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, and The Moving Image.
Dana Polan is professor of cinema studies at New York University. His most recent book is Julia Child’s The French Chef from Duke University Press. [End Page 183]
