Stephen Filler teaches at Oakland University in Michigan. He received his PhD in Japanese from Ohio State University and conducted his doctoral research at Osaka University. His research interests include Japanese anarchism, Japanese naturalist literature, romanticism, and historical fiction. He teaches courses in Japanese language, business Japanese, and modern and traditional literature and culture, and he is a faculty member of International Studies.
Diarmuid Hester is a doctoral candidate in English at the University of Sussex. His research centers on contemporary literature, avant-garde aesthetics, histories of American anarchism, and the continental tradition of European philosophy. He is a Library of Congress John W. Kluge Center fellow for 2012–2013 and secretary of the Society for Contemporary Literature.
Shane McCorristine is a Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Leicester. He is an interdisciplinary historian and has published widely on the supernatural, Victorian literature, and Arctic exploration. From 2013, he will be working on the “Harnessing the Power of the Criminal Corpse” project at Leicester.
Jared McGeough received his PhD from the University of Western Ontario in 2011 and is currently Assistant Professor of English at Concordia University (Montreal). His research explores anti-foundationalist themes and representations of both anarchy and anarchism via tropes of disorder in Romantic and Victorian writing.
Catherine M. Nutting teaches at the Vancouver Island School of Art in Victoria, BC. Her master’s research examined anarchism and aesthetic theories with a special focus on the works of Herbert Read. She is currently a doctoral candidate working on early modern art theory at the University of Victoria, where she received Learning Without Borders grants from the Learning Teaching Centre, a fellowship from the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society, and the Andy Farquharson Teaching Excellence Award. Jeff Shantz has been a community organizer, rank-and-file union activist, and anarchist for decades. His publications include numerous articles in movement publications such as Anarchy, Social Anarchism, Green Anarchy, Earth First! Journal, Northeastern Anarchist, Industrial Worker, Anarcho-Syndicalist Review, Onward, Arsenal, and Processed World. He was involved in the Who’s Emma? Infoshop and Anarchist Free Space and Free Skool for several years. His book Constructive Anarchy: Building Infrastructures of Resistance (Ashgate 2010) discusses contemporary anarchist organizing.
