The Japanese Byron Society held its 19th annual meeting at the International House of Japan in Tokyo on 20 July 2013. Twenty people gathered and enjoyed three stimulating [End Page 220] talks by our young members. The speakers and their titles are as follows: Yuuki Kikuchi, ‘Revival of Byronmania through Marxism in Japan: Focusing on the Centennial of Byron’s Death in 1924’; Keiko Ikeda, ‘A Mirror and the Hieroglyphic in P. B. Shelley’s A Defence of Poetry’; and Campbell Kumiko, ‘Byron and Sakutaro: Highlighting Parallels with the Apollonian and Dionysian Narrative’. Next year’s meeting will be held in Nara.
