Notes The judges for the 1986 Don D. Walker Prize for the most significant article published in western American studies have awarded the prize to Margery Fee, for “Howard O’Hagan’s ‘Tay John’: Making New World Myth,” which appeared in the Autumn 1986 number of Canadian Literature. Judges for the 1986 award were Christine Bold, University of Alberta; Robert M. Davis, University of Oklahoma; Stephen Tatum, University of Utah. The nominations committee' was staffed by Deb Wylder, Murray State University; Mark Busby, Texas A&M University; Charles Crow, Bowling Green Uni­ versity; Sanford Marovitz, Kent State University. Nominations for the 1987 prize are open and should be sent to Professor Wylder. * * * Legacy: A journal of Nineteenth-Century American Women Writers plans a special issue scheduled for Spring, 1989.
