Notes Western Literature Association 1982 Annual Meeting The seventeenth annual meeting of the Western Literature Association will be held in Denver, Colorado, on October 7, 8, and 9 at the Ramada Inn Downtown, 1150 East Colfax, and sponsored by Colorado State University and the Vardis Fisher Memorial Fund. * * * * * * CALL FOR PAPERS: In April 1983 the theme of the California History Institute will be THE 1930s: DEPRESSION YEARS IN CALIFORNIA, and in April 1984 the theme will be WOMEN IN CALIFORNIA HISTORY. Proposals for papers should be sent to the Director, Holt-Atherton Pacific Center for Western Studies, University of the Pacific, Stockton, Cali fornia 95211, at least six months in advance of the appropriate meetings. The exact dates of each two-day institute will be available as soon as the university’s detailed calendar is fixed. Papers are desired on a broad range of subjects related to each theme, reflecting not only original research and analysis but also personal experience and scholarly interpre tation and comparison.
