Susan Stryker

Susan Stryker is associate professor of gender and women’s studies and director of the Institute for LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona. She codirected the public television documentary Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton’s Cafeteria, and is working on a new experimental film, Christine in the Cutting Room, about 1950s transsexual celebrity Christine Jorgensen’s use of her own body as manipulable biomedia within the cinematic apparatus.
