Abstract

In this article, translated by Natalia Esling, Katya Montaignac addresses the paradoxical position of the dramaturg: at once on the inside and the outside of the work, a confidant and the macro-compositional eye, a collaborating artist with a recognizable signature and a neutral facilitator. This discussion draws upon her experience dramaturging Montreal-based choreographers alongside international voices on dramaturgy.
