Abstract

Research indicates that more teacher-student interaction in the learning (specifically instructional) process attains higher results in student achievement. Group work seems to generate greater student participation and growth in achievement and motivation. Add to the group process the inherent motivational factor of the computer, and you have a formula for success in classrooms with hearing and hearing-impaired students. Programs developed for instructional rather than tutorial or assessment needs may show greater results in successful classrooms in the future.
