This article investigates how world history can help recraft the liberal arts to better serve an interconnected, cosmopolitan, and "globalized" world in the twenty-first century. It argues that world history can help students, citizens, and educators transcend real and imagined boundaries to become more empathetic and insightful "global citizens."
