  • Society for Buddhist-Christian Studies Graduate Student Essay Winner 2011

Kyeongil Jung is the winner of the first SBCS graduate student essay competition. Jung is a doctoral candidate in ecumenics and interfaith studies at Union Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his dissertation, "The Bodhi Tree and the Cross: A Buddhist-Christian Theology of Liberation." A condensed version of his winning essay was presented during the SBCS session in San Francisco on 19 November at 10:30 a.m.

The SBCS graduate student essay competition was started last year in the hopes of getting greater student participation in the Society. We congratulate Jung and we hope to continue student interest in the Society through this award. For information on the essay competition, please contact Glenn Willis at willisg@bc.edu.
