In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • Editor’s Note
  • Wray Vamplew

When I became Editor of the Journal of Sport History it was way behind schedule, manuscripts had gone missing, and the submission and refereeing process was cumbersome. Hopefully all this is now behind us. New sections have been introduced on “Sources and Methods,” “Presidential Reflections,” and the “Test of Time”; the submission and refereeing process has been speeded up by making it solely electronic; and a Journal of Sport History webpage, including a new styleguide, has been set up. Most importantly, the journal is back on its publication timetable. The next task is to get the journal on to the various citation indices. I am confident that, with the assistance of the Publications Board, Alison Wrynn and Murray Phillips will achieve this.

I end my tenure with sincere thanks to the Editorial Team, particularly Dr. Joyce Kay and Dr. JoDee Dyreson.
