Teaching and Learning with the Periodical Poetry Index

The Periodical Poetry Index is an open access online research database of citations to English-language poems published in nineteenth-century periodicals. This project expands access to scholarly sources for students and teachers; encourages research methods that take advantage of the nature of print culture; makes available our own research process that evolves with and through the index; and foregrounds collaboration across institutional and geographic locations. We also offer examples of how teachers might use the index in graduate and undergraduate surveys, poetry courses, research methods and bibliography courses, and digital humanities courses.
