Parergon Editor's Foreword The Parergon Editorial Committee was approached in March 2003 with the suggestion that w e devote a future issue to the memory of the late Professor George Yule. Since then many people have been involved in making that idea a reality. W e ae now delighted to present as Parergon 21.2 the volume Religion, Society and Government in Early Modern England: Essays For George Yule. I thank in particular Wilfred Prest for his initial organization of this collection and steady work in shepherding the authors towards completion and revision of their articles.
